What you do after the shot can make or break your recovery.
This is an after the shot checklist:
-Watch the deer closely
-Note the direction it ran
-Listen for limbs snapping, crashing or coughing
-Pick landmarks where you last saw it
-Mark last blood
Do not track if:
-You are unsure of the hit
-There is minimal blood
-Deer walked off hunched over
-You think the deer bedded down
Back out slowly and call us!
